Note - I believe I worked you while operating K4NVA. That was interesting.

The funny part was that I worked fellow club member W4JTP on CW three times...once on 40m, once on 80m, and once on 40m as K4NVA shortly before I worked you.

Interesting VAQP this year

Most of the connections use shielded cable with RCA phono jacks on the ends -- whether for audio or RF. The direction coupler in the station control unit has N-type connectors. I tend to use PL259-terminated coax around the shack, so I found it helpful to buy some converters that were also elbow-shaped since there isn't a lot of space to either side of the coupler. (see picture at http://goo.gl/doDgu).

RF Connnection in Gaithersburg, MD stocks a number of Collins-related accessories including patch cords, replacement cable for the power connectors, and I think that's where I bought my N-adapter, pictured above.

Good luck ES 73, Jack

I didn't have Gargoyle for Mac at that point -- I only installed it later on to run the ALAN game, and I was pleased with how well the interpreter worked. I am used to using Gargoyle on my Linux boxes, but didn't realize that binaries were available for Mac OS X.

I'm not at all familiar with Adrift, so I went the most conservative route and tried to run it under Windows with a purpose-built interpreter. Glad to hear that Gargoyle handled it well -- next time I have an ALAN or Adrift game to run on the Mac, I'll start with Gargoyle. Thanks!
